Exotic pet keepers get the worst of both worlds: too little reliable information, and too many listings that went live because someone paid for them. We wanted one place where a listing means a human looked at it, where reviews come from actual homes, and where health history is recorded instead of hidden.

We started with hedgehogs because the stakes are high and the guidance is thin. Wobbly Hedgehog Syndrome runs in lines, there is no test in a living animal, and the honest answer — "it appeared in this line, here is what we did" — is exactly the answer that gets buried. So we built lineage warnings into the core of the site rather than hiding them in a profile footnote.
